The Boy Who Cried Wolf
There was once a shepherd's boy who minded a flock of sheep in the fields. By
way of a joke, he would often shout: "Wolf! wolf!" This caused the men
working in the neighboring fields to run to the rescue, and the boy
laughed as he watched the men leave. After being deceived two or three
times, they decided to take no notice of the boy's shouts. Soon after, a wolf
really came, and the shepherd's boy cried out in earnest. But no one took any
notice of his shouts, and so he and his sheep were killed.
This story has survived until today, as a
lesson for all....This is NOT the time for people to be calling in false bomb
threats, or to think that it is funny. It's no joke and is a serious crime.
Don't waste the time of our emergency personnel and police for FALSE alarms,
when they may be needed for something very serious and REAL. Watch out, the
person needing the help may turn out to be YOU, and.....
